In the Gobustan settlement (60 km from Baku) there is a rare monument of world culture, one of the first centers of the civilization of mankind - the Azerbaijan historical-art reserve “Gobustan”. Among masterpieces of indigenous architects: an ancient part of Baku – “Icheri Sheher” (Inner Town) with its legendary Maiden’s Tower and the Shirvanshakhs Palace, the Khans Palace in Sheki city; covered by multi-coloured frescos, the Tower Mausoleum Momina-khatun in Nakhcivan, the mysterious Temple Diri-Baba which was cut out of rocks in a wild gorge in Shamakhy region; muslim Mosques with tall minarets, Christian temples and many buildings of another religions ; the mighty bridges which have endured through the ages, bastions of powerful fortresses at the peaks of mountains. Truly, it is worth it to overcome great distances for the pleasure of seeing even a small part of all these miracles.

The territory of the Azerbaijan Republic has good nature, which is rich with flora and fauna here are almost all kind of plants (4500 kinds), 97 spacies of animals, 357 kinds of birds, about 100 kinds of fish, 67 kinds of reptiles, about 15 thousand of insects. Area of forests is 12 percent from the whole territory. There is black line, elder pine, acacia, oak, persimmon,box-tree, fig and so on. There are 8400 large and shallow rivers. The largest are Kura and Araz. There are a lot of mineral springs, salt lakes and mud volcanoes. On the east territory of Azerbaijan is washed by the Caspian Sea - the largest lake in the world. There are 6 national parks, 13 reserves, 21 sanctuaries in our country. Geological and ecological tours will give you a chance to experience the flora and fauna of our country.

Rural tourism is a relatively new area of the tourism industry. This kind of tourism is also called "agritourism" or "green" tourism. Rural turism is currently developing all over the world, including in Azerbaijan.
Agritourism involves temporary stay of tourists in the countryside for recreation. This type of holiday is perfect for families with children. Rural tourism today is for the elderly, the company of young people, as well as people who are keen on sports. The village has many features and tools for organizing outdoor activities. Azerbaijan is a country with rich folk traditions. From generation to generation, wedding and funeral rituals have been handed down. Many traditions are embodied in the Azerbaijani people's hospitality: its culture, people's beliefs, national costumes, folk festivals and entertainment.
While in an Azerbaijani village, tourists can take walks and hike in the woods. They can look for mushrooms, nuts, and berries. They can also swim in the Caspian Sea, or other rivers and lakes.

of animals, ride on horseback, or manage a horse-drawn cart. Tourists may also learn to weave rugs, weave baskets, learn the potter's wheel or blacksmithing.

In order to satisfy a tremendously increasing demand for tours on horseback, we offer various opportunities to those interested, from horse-racing in the hippodrome to long trips through mountains and forests. Well-trained horses of both Azeri and other national races are available. To those who wish to learn traditional Azeri games on horse back like “Catch the Girl” or “Surpanah” (a sort of basketball played by riders), courses can be arranged.
Sailing & fishing |
Sailing tours are available from early April till late October in the Bay of Baku and around the Absheron Archipelago. Sailing includes fishing (max. 5 kg) and fish-barbecuing on the Caspian shore. Motor-boats have a capacity of ten passengers, sailing-boats
vary between three and five passengers. The motor-boats are 0.25 tones with a loading capacity of 0.5 tones and 7 to 8 marks in terms of seaworthiness. Sail boats can carry 3 to 5 persons.

Most of them are decored with beautiful engravings. The most amazing and unique art is the “shebeke”, which is carved window bars, similar to mosaic and stained-glass windows.
